There are so many towns to call home in Northern New Jersey. Whether you choose midtown direct towns like Glen Ridge, Maplewood, Millburn/Short Hills, Montclair or South Orange, or towns like Livingston and West Orange with easy access to a train station and/or extensive bus service. Living within these towns brings you close to everything: the airport, stores, malls, and all major highways like interstate 280 (to the NJ Turnpike), Garden State Parkway, Holland & Lincoln Tunnels, Route 24 and Route 80. The bus and train service transports you throughout the state and into Manhattan, which is between 12-18 miles depending on the town. Below you’ll find useful information on four of these towns, not too mention the many shops, local businesses, and attractions. There are public and private schools and many area New Jersey and New York colleges to choose from, too.
Nearby cultural highlights include various golf courses, the Newark Museum, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Montclair Art Museum, the Paper Mill Playhouse, AMC Essex Green dine-in theater, and the South Mountain Reservation to name a few. You can take a break and shop at the many local stores and restaurants in the towns, or in addition to Mall at Short Hills, stop by the Livingston Mall, or the dozens of stores and attractions along Route 10, too.
